R E S O L U T I O N
 
         WHEREAS, The untimely passing of Jeff Tankersley of Amarillo
  on June 10, 2012, at the age of 48, has brought a tremendous loss to
  his family and friends; and
         WHEREAS, Born in Clovis, New Mexico, Jeff Tankersley is the
  son of Joel and Sallye Tankersley; he grew up in Ralls, where he
  attended high school, and following his graduation, he went on to
  earn his bachelor's degree from Angelo State University and his law
  degree from Texas Tech University; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Tankersley enjoyed a notable career as an
  attorney and partner of the Sprouse Shrader Smith law firm; active
  in his community, he served on the boards of the Ronald McDonald
  House and the American Cancer Society; he also served the
  congregation of First Baptist Church as a deacon, a Sunday school
  teacher, and a basketball coordinator; and
         WHEREAS, In all of his endeavors, Mr. Tankersley was blessed
  with the support of his wife of 15 years, Amy, and their two
  children, Caroline and Beck; and
         WHEREAS, Although Jeff Tankersley's years on this earth ended
  far too soon, cherished memories of time spent in his company will
  long endure in the hearts of all those whose lives he touched; now,
  therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
  Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Jeff Tankersley and
  extend sincere sympathy to the members of his family: to his wife,
  Amy Tankersley; to his daughter, Caroline Tankersley; to his son,
  Beck Tankersley; to his parents, Joel and Sallye Tankersley; to his
  brother, Dean Tankersley, and his wife, Cindy; to his sister,
  Krista Tankersley; to his grandparents, Dr. and Mrs. W. Winfred
  Moore; to his mother-in-law, Anne Preston; to his brother-in-law,
  James Preston, and his wife, Stacey; and to his other relatives and
  many friends; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Jeff
  Tankersley.
