R E S O L U T I O N
|

|
|
WHEREAS, The untimely passing of Jeff Tankersley of Amarillo |
|
|
on June 10, 2012, at the age of 48, has brought a tremendous loss to |
|
|
his family and friends; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Born in Clovis, New Mexico, Jeff Tankersley is the |
|
|
son of Joel and Sallye Tankersley; he grew up in Ralls, where he |
|
|
attended high school, and following his graduation, he went on to |
|
|
earn his bachelor's degree from Angelo State University and his law |
|
|
degree from Texas Tech University; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Tankersley enjoyed a notable career as an |
|
|
attorney and partner of the Sprouse Shrader Smith law firm; active |
|
|
in his community, he served on the boards of the Ronald McDonald |
|
|
House and the American Cancer Society; he also served the |
|
|
congregation of First Baptist Church as a deacon, a Sunday school |
|
|
teacher, and a basketball coordinator; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, In all of his endeavors, Mr. Tankersley was blessed |
|
|
with the support of his wife of 15 years, Amy, and their two |
|
|
children, Caroline and Beck; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Although Jeff Tankersley's years on this earth ended |
|
|
far too soon, cherished memories of time spent in his company will |
|
|
long endure in the hearts of all those whose lives he touched; now, |
|
|
therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Jeff Tankersley and |
|
|
extend sincere sympathy to the members of his family: to his wife, |
|
|
Amy Tankersley; to his daughter, Caroline Tankersley; to his son, |
|
|
Beck Tankersley; to his parents, Joel and Sallye Tankersley; to his |
|
|
brother, Dean Tankersley, and his wife, Cindy; to his sister, |
|
|
Krista Tankersley; to his grandparents, Dr. and Mrs. W. Winfred |
|
|
Moore; to his mother-in-law, Anne Preston; to his brother-in-law, |
|
|
James Preston, and his wife, Stacey; and to his other relatives and |
|
|
many friends; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of |
|
|
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Jeff |
|
|
Tankersley. |
