R E S O L U T I O N
|

|
|
WHEREAS, Youth from across the state gathered at the State |
|
|
Capitol on February 15-17, 2013, for the 36th annual Texas DeMolay |
|
|
Government Day event; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Part of DeMolay International, Texas DeMolay is an |
|
|
organization dedicated to preparing young men to lead successful |
|
|
and productive lives by helping them develop civic awareness, |
|
|
personal responsibility, and leadership skills; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Each year, students convene in Austin for the |
|
|
organization's Government Day event; organized into house and |
|
|
senate membership, attendees gain valuable insight into the |
|
|
legislative process as they conduct mock sessions on the floor of |
|
|
each chamber; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Through this worthwhile program, participants are |
|
|
learning about the inner workings of state government while also |
|
|
recognizing the importance of citizen education and involvement, |
|
|
and these lessons will surely serve them well in the years to come; |
|
|
now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby recognize the 36th annual Texas DeMolay |
|
|
Government Day event at the State Capitol and commend all those who |
|
|
contributed to its success. |
