R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Family and friends are mourning the loss of Dan Holt |
|
|
of Abilene, who passed away on January 24, 2013, at the age of 89; |
|
|
and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Born on January 13, 1924, in Gouldbusk to Alberta |
|
|
and Ruffus Lee Holt, Dan Holt graduated from Forsan High School; he |
|
|
served his country in the United States Army Air Corps, and he went |
|
|
on to own his own business, Arrow Construction, in Snyder; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Holt contributed to his community as a 32nd |
|
|
Degree Mason and a Shriner; he was also a valued member of St. Paul |
|
|
United Methodist Church; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, A devoted family man, Mr. Holt shared nearly 60 |
|
|
years of marriage with his wife, Marion Faith Holt, until her |
|
|
passing in 2003; he was the father of two beloved children, David |
|
|
and Linda, and he had the pleasure of welcoming into his family six |
|
|
grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren ; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Dan Holt lived a rich and productive life, and he |
|
|
will forever be remembered with deep affection by all those who held |
|
|
him dear; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Dan Holt and extend |
|
|
sincere condolences to the members of his family: to his son, David |
|
|
Holt, and his wife, Donna; to his daughter, Linda Faith Holt Hall; |
|
|
to his grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and to his other |
|
|
relatives and friends; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of |
|
|
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Dan Holt. |
