R E S O L U T I O N
 
         WHEREAS, The Heartfelt International Ministries "Dreams,
  Pumps, and Pearls" 2013 Tour is making a stop at Friendship West
  Baptist Church in Dallas on March 9, 2013, and this event provides a
  welcome opportunity to honor HIM founder Cathy Moffitt for her
  outstanding work with that organization; and
         WHEREAS, Through Heartfelt International Ministries, which
  she incorporated in 1998, Ms. Moffitt offers community-relations
  and fund-raising assistance to religious and nonprofit
  organizations, as well as the Christian Women's Leadership
  Development Program and various professional development
  workshops; and
         WHEREAS, A former teacher and a retired corporate executive,
  Ms. Moffitt has served as president of the Women's Center of Dallas
  and as a member, board member, or trustee of the Women's Council of
  Dallas County, the Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden, the
  Dallas Chapter of The Links, Inc., the Junior League of Dallas, and
  a State Fair of Texas task force; she is a graduate of Leadership
  America, Leadership Texas, and Leadership Dallas and has been
  featured in Ebony magazine; and
         WHEREAS, The 2013 Dallas "Dreams, Pumps, and Pearls" event
  will also feature such speakers as Pastor Sonjia Dickerson, Joyce
  L. Rodgers, and Joy Hill, host Debra P. Haynes, and special guests
  Pat Smith, Donna Richardson Joyner, Ramona Logan, Rebecca Lopez,
  Lisa B. Williams, and Kirsten Kuykendoll; the event's theme is
  "Ordinary Women Achieving Extraordinary Dreams"; and
         WHEREAS, The impressive slate of guests involved in this
  event is a testament to the outsized impact Cathy Moffitt has had on
  so many women, and an edifying and enjoyable time is sure to be had
  by all; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
  Legislature hereby commemorate the "Dreams, Pumps, and Pearls" 2013
  Tour event in Dallas and honor Cathy Moffitt for her many years of
  ministry; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Ms. Moffitt as an expression of high regard by the
  Texas House of Representatives.
