R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Since the 1960s, Dixie Clem of Plano has been a |
|
|
leader in the development of the Republican Party in her county and |
|
|
state; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Ms. Clem was instrumental in the formation of the |
|
|
Collin County Republican Party, and she has served the group as |
|
|
director of headquarters for 30 years; she is also a charter member |
|
|
of Conner Harrington Republican Women, the county's longest running |
|
|
Republican women's club; in her various positions with the club, |
|
|
she has overseen its development into a highly active organization |
|
|
that has won both the Diamond Award from the National Federation of |
|
|
Republican Women and the Award of Excellence from the Texas |
|
|
Federation; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Ms. Clem is also a personal recipient of a number of |
|
|
accolades; the TFRW recognized her with its Top 10 Outstanding |
|
|
Women Award, and the Conner Harrington club has established an |
|
|
annual award in her honor; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, An inspiring example of the hard work and strong |
|
|
ideals that are central to success in a democracy, Dixie Clem may |
|
|
look with pride at her many accomplishments over the last 50 years; |
|
|
now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby commend Dixie Clem for her contributions to the |
|
|
political process in Texas and extend to her sincere best wishes for |
|
|
the future; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Ms. Clem as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
|
House of Representatives. |
