R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Fred Bowyer of Houston retired as principal of
  Condit Elementary School on February 8, 2013, concluding a notable
  career with the Houston Independent School District that spanned
  nearly three decades; and
         WHEREAS, Hired as principal of Condit Elementary 13 years
  ago, Mr. Bowyer demonstrated exceptional leadership and earned the
  admiration of the school's faculty, staff, and students; he was
  selected as the regional Principal of the Year in the H-E-B
  Excellence in Education program for 2009-2010, and under his
  guidance, Condit Elementary was named as one of six finalists for
  the 2010-2011 National Title I Distinguished School Award by the
  Texas Education Agency; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Bowyer previously served on the faculty of Ryan
  and Jane Long Middle Schools, and he was named Teacher of the Year
  at both; he went on to accept positions in administration at Oak
  Forest Elementary and Lanier Middle Schools, where he served as an
  assistant principal; he further contributed to his profession as a
  member of the Houston Association of School Administrators, the
  Association of Hispanic School Administrators, and the Texas
  Elementary Principals and Supervisors Association; and
         WHEREAS, Fred Bowyer has made a positive difference in the
  lives of countless students, and he may indeed take great pride in
  his impressive professional accomplishments; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
  Legislature hereby honor Fred Bowyer on the occasion of his
  retirement as principal of Condit Elementary School and extend to
  him sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, Than an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Mr. Bowyer as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
