R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Bill Johnson of Robinson has been awarded the 61st |
|
|
Spirit of America Medal by the Good Soldier Foundation; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Johnson was presented the honor at the Military |
|
|
Officers Association Christmas Dinner, in recognition of his |
|
|
commitment to supporting Waco-area veterans, military personnel, |
|
|
and their families; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The owner of Johnson Roofing, Mr. Johnson has |
|
|
sponsored a number of events to pay tribute to current and former |
|
|
service members and their loved ones; in September 2012, he helped |
|
|
to host the Welcome Home Veterans Celebration, where some 15,000 |
|
|
participants enjoyed food, entertainment, and the good wishes of |
|
|
friends and neighbors; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Bill Johnson is carrying out a noble mission by |
|
|
recognizing those who have sacrificed for our nation, and in so |
|
|
doing, he is ensuring that these brave men and women receive the |
|
|
appreciation they so richly deserve; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Bill Johnson on his receipt of the |
|
|
Spirit of America Medal from the Good Soldier Foundation and extend |
|
|
to him sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Mr. Johnson as an expression of high regard by the |
|
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
