R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, A 60th wedding anniversary marks a lifetime of
  mutual devotion and shared experiences, and George and Nettie Green
  of Woodway celebrated this joyous milestone in their marriage on
  January 31, 2013; and
         WHEREAS, George Green and the former Nettie Kurtz were joined
  in matrimony in 1953 at a ceremony held at Grace Lutheran Church in
  Marlin; through the years, they have been blessed with a treasured
  family that includes two children and their spouses, Kay and Billy
  Pigg and Keith and Nancy Green, as well as three grandchildren,
  Brooke Bukowski, T. J. Green, and Kevin Green, and a
  great-grandson, Caleb Green; and
         WHEREAS, Respected members of their community, Mr. and Mrs.
  Green founded Green's Automatic Transmission in 1963 and owned and
  operated the business until their retirement; together they belong
  to several motor home clubs and enjoy traveling throughout the
  U.S.; Mr. Green is an avid camper and dedicated fan of dirt track
  racing who for many years raced with his son; Mrs. Green takes
  pleasure in flower gardening and feeding the various animals that
  frequent their home patio; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Green have enjoyed six decades of
  abiding love and affection for each other, and they are among an
  exceptional group of men and women who can claim such a lasting
  commitment; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate George and Nettie Green on their
  60th wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes for
  continued happiness; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Green as an expression of high regard by
  the Texas House of Representatives.
