        |  | R E S O L U T I O N | 
      
        |  | WHEREAS, A 50th wedding anniversary marks a lifetime of | 
      
        |  | mutual devotion and shared experiences, and Eli and Vicky Clifton | 
      
        |  | of Canton celebrated this joyous milestone in their marriage on | 
      
        |  | March 1, 2013; and | 
      
        |  | WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Clifton were joined in matrimony in | 
      
        |  | 1963 at a ceremony held in Dallas; through the years, they have been | 
      
        |  | blessed with a treasured family that includes 3 children, Lori | 
      
        |  | Reese and her husband, Andy, Cherri McIlheran and her husband, | 
      
        |  | Mark, and Stephen Clifton and his wife, Julie, as well as 13 | 
      
        |  | grandchildren; and | 
      
        |  | WHEREAS, Respected members of their community, Mr. Clifton is | 
      
        |  | an army veteran and a deacon who has worked for Contran Corporation | 
      
        |  | since 1984, and Mrs. Clifton is a retired medical office manager; in | 
      
        |  | addition to meeting their work and family responsibilities, they | 
      
        |  | have been valued members of their church and helped to found Beverly | 
      
        |  | Hills Christian School; and | 
      
        |  | WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Clifton have enjoyed half a century of | 
      
        |  | abiding love and affection for each other, and they are among an | 
      
        |  | exceptional group of men and women who can claim such a lasting | 
      
        |  | commitment; now, therefore, be it | 
      
        |  | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas | 
      
        |  | Legislature hereby congratulate Eli and Vicky Clifton on their | 
      
        |  | golden wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes | 
      
        |  | for continued happiness; and, be it further | 
      
        |  | RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be | 
      
        |  | prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Clifton as an expression of high regard by | 
      
        |  | the Texas House of Representatives. |
