R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Madison Albrecht of Boerne has been chosen as a |
|
|
finalist in the 2013 Prudential Spirit of Community Awards program |
|
|
for her innovative service efforts; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, A student at Boerne--Samuel V. Champion High School, |
|
|
Ms. Albrecht is also a member of the Girl Scouts; since 2008, she |
|
|
has raised more than $21,000 to ship over 4,000 boxes of Girl Scout |
|
|
cookies to soldiers overseas, sending a poem of appreciation along |
|
|
with each box; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The Prudential Spirit of Community Awards program is |
|
|
presented by Prudential Financial and the National Association of |
|
|
Secondary School Principals in honor of young volunteers who have |
|
|
demonstrated an extraordinary commitment to serving others; Ms. |
|
|
Albrecht is part of a select group of honorees, as just 234 |
|
|
individuals were named finalists throughout the country in 2013, |
|
|
the 18th year of the program's existence; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The continued strength of our communities depends on |
|
|
the dedication of young people like Madison Albrecht, and she is a |
|
|
source of great pride to her family and school; now, therefore, be |
|
|
it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Madison Albrecht on her selection |
|
|
as a finalist in the 2013 Prudential Spirit of Community Awards and |
|
|
extend to her sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it |
|
|
further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Ms. Albrecht as an expression of high regard by the |
|
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
