R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, A 101st birthday is indeed cause for celebration,
  and Annella Lewis Baker of Waco marked that significant milestone
  in her life on February 8, 2013; and
         WHEREAS, Born to Watson and Berdie Lewis in 1912, the former
  Annella Lewis was the youngest of three children; she grew up in
  McGregor and attended public schools there; and
         WHEREAS, Among the many jobs she held over the years, her
  favorite was her tenure with the Waco Independent School District,
  where she was employed for more than three decades and was known for
  her dedication and her fair decisions; affectionately called
  "Mrs. Nell" or "Mama Nell," Mrs. Baker is a valued member of the
  St. Luke African Methodist Episcopal Church of Waco; and
         WHEREAS, A source of wisdom and inspiration, Annella Baker
  has witnessed a panorama of change during a historic century, and
  her 101st birthday offers a welcome opportunity to remind her of the
  special place she holds in the hearts of her many loved ones; now,
  therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate Annella Lewis Baker on her 101st
  birthday and extend to her sincere best wishes for continued
  happiness; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Mrs. Baker as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
