R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, The library at Ford Elementary School in Georgetown |
|
|
was awarded first place in the Fall 2012 Scholastic Book Fairs |
|
|
National Elementary School Contest; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Libraries were judged on the originality and |
|
|
creativity of their efforts to promote the book fair as well as on |
|
|
their work to increase interest in books and reading; as the winner, |
|
|
the Ford Library receives a $2,000 credit to purchase items from the |
|
|
Scholastic Resource Catalog and also the opportunity to host a |
|
|
personal appearance by Dav Pilkey, a celebrated author and |
|
|
illustrator of children's literature; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The dedicated staff of the Ford Elementary School |
|
|
Library are helping to instill a love of learning in young children, |
|
|
and their invaluable efforts represent a vital investment in the |
|
|
building of tomorrow's leaders; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate the Ford Elementary School Library |
|
|
on earning first place in the Fall 2012 Scholastic Book Fairs |
|
|
National Elementary School Contest and extend to the library's |
|
|
staff sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for the library as an expression of high regard by the |
|
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
