R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, The rank of Eagle Scout is an achievement shared by |
|
many of this nation's leaders, and the attainment of this |
|
significant honor by Chase Parker Heffernan of Georgetown also |
|
heralds a future bright with opportunity and promise; and |
|
WHEREAS, A freshman at Georgetown High School and a member of |
|
First United Methodist Church who currently attends Wellspring |
|
United Methodist Church, this fine young Texan has mastered a |
|
number of important skills in his quest to become an Eagle Scout; he |
|
has earned 33 merit badges requiring expertise in such diverse |
|
areas as first aid, personal fitness, and environmental science, |
|
and he has gained experience in leadership and teamwork while |
|
undertaking his Eagle Scout project, which involved constructing |
|
two garden boxes for the students at Ford Elementary School; and |
|
WHEREAS, Having contributed 121 volunteer hours to 33 service |
|
projects, Mr. Heffernan has served his peers as a leader, and in so |
|
doing, he has exemplified the many positive traits for which Boy |
|
Scouts are renowned; and |
|
WHEREAS, In fulfilling the rigorous requirements for |
|
attaining the Eagle Scout insignia, Chase Heffernan has |
|
demonstrated an unwavering commitment to the organization and its |
|
ideals, and the knowledge and confidence he has acquired along the |
|
way will indeed serve him well in the years to come; now, therefore, |
|
be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas |
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Chase Parker Heffernan on |
|
attaining the rank of Eagle Scout and extend to him sincere best |
|
wishes for continued success; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Mr. Heffernan as an expression of high regard by the |
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
