R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Wesleyan Homes in Georgetown celebrated the 50th |
|
|
anniversary of the opening of its first facility in 2012; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Organized by the Central Texas Annual Conference of |
|
|
the United Methodist Church, the Wesleyan Corporation broke ground |
|
|
in January 1961, and the first resident of the Wesleyan Retirement |
|
|
Home was welcomed in September of the next year; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Since that time, services have been expanded to |
|
|
include a nursing facility and apartments dedicated to assisted |
|
|
living and memory care; a new independent living center, The |
|
|
Wesleyan at Estrella, was completed in 2008; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Wesleyan Homes has remained dedicated to offering |
|
|
individualized support to Central Texas seniors for half a century, |
|
|
and it is indeed fitting to honor the institution on this important |
|
|
milestone; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby commemorate the 50th anniversary of the founding |
|
|
of Wesleyan Homes and extend to all those associated with the |
|
|
organization sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Wesleyan Homes as an expression of high regard by the |
|
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
