R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, The rank of Eagle Scout is an achievement shared by |
|
many of this nation's leaders, and the attainment of this |
|
significant honor by Cody Dalton Stephens of Georgetown also |
|
heralds a future bright with opportunity and promise; and |
|
WHEREAS, A sophomore at St. Dominic Savio Catholic High |
|
School and a member of Zion Lutheran Church, this fine young Texan |
|
has mastered a number of important skills in his quest to become an |
|
Eagle Scout; he has earned 31 merit badges requiring expertise in |
|
such diverse areas as first aid, personal fitness, and |
|
environmental science, and he has gained experience in leadership |
|
and teamwork while undertaking his Eagle Scout project, which |
|
involved the removal of brush and debris from the historic Anderson |
|
Cemetery; and |
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Stephens is a member of the Order of the Arrow |
|
and has served his peers as a leader, and in so doing, he has |
|
exemplified the many positive traits for which Boy Scouts are |
|
renowned; and |
|
WHEREAS, In fulfilling the rigorous requirements for |
|
attaining the Eagle Scout insignia, Cody Stephens has demonstrated |
|
an unwavering commitment to the organization and its ideals, and |
|
the knowledge and confidence he has acquired along the way will |
|
indeed serve him well in the years to come; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas |
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Cody Dalton Stephens on attaining |
|
the rank of Eagle Scout and extend to him sincere best wishes for |
|
continued success; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Mr. Stephens as an expression of high regard by the |
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
