R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Family and friends will long cherish their memories |
|
of Kali Eyvonne Gorzell of San Antonio, who passed away on July 20, |
|
2012, at the age of 16; and |
|
WHEREAS, Born to James and Donna Gorzell on June 6, 1996, in |
|
San Antonio, Kali Gorzell attended Smithson Valley High School in |
|
Spring Branch; as a freshman, she excelled on the school volleyball |
|
team and was an honor-roll student, and in her free time she enjoyed |
|
participating in youth group events at Community Bible Church; and |
|
WHEREAS, Ms. Gorzell's upbeat personality was ever-present |
|
on the volleyball court as she cheered on her teammates, and she |
|
enjoyed supporting her older brother at his golf tournaments; to |
|
commemorate her bright and adventurous spirit, her fellow students |
|
at Smithson Valley High have adopted the motto "Live like Kali" as a |
|
call to live every moment to the fullest; and |
|
WHEREAS, Although her days were far too few, the joy and |
|
radiance with which Kali Gorzell lived her life will forever |
|
comfort and inspire all those who were fortunate enough to know her; |
|
now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas |
|
Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Kali Eyvonne |
|
Gorzell and extend sincere sympathy to the members of her family: to |
|
her parents, James and Donna Gorzell; to her brother, Kirby |
|
Gorzell; to her uncles, Dane Kirby and his wife, Rosemary, Dale |
|
Kirby and his wife, Stephanie, Tommy Smith, Fabian Gorzell and his |
|
wife, Earlene, Robert Gorzell and his wife, Mary, and Ed Gorzell, |
|
Jr., and his wife, Dina; to her aunts, Kelly Kirby Brown and her |
|
husband, Austin, Louise Gorzell Moczygemba, and Patricia Gorzell |
|
Donsbach and her husband, Ray; and to her other relatives and many |
|
friends; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of |
|
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Kali |
|
Gorzell. |
