R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Residents of Memphis lost a brave and dedicated
  member of the community with the passing of fire marshal Charles
  Matthew Waller on February 25, 2012, at the age of 47; and
         WHEREAS, The son of Charles and Violet Pierce Waller, Matt
  Waller was born on June 27, 1964, in Memphis, Texas; he graduated
  from Memphis High School in 1982, and following in his father's
  footsteps, he attended the Amarillo College Fire Academy and joined
  the Memphis Volunteer Fire Department; during his nearly three
  decades there, he served as a firefighter and an emergency medical
  technician, as well as the department training officer, and he was
  the city's fire marshal for 15 years; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Waller was a deacon at First Baptist Church,
  where he taught Sunday school classes, managed the sound board, and
  contributed to mission work in El Paso; he further distinguished
  himself as a volunteer for Little League, Pee Wee Football, and
  Relay for Life; in all of his endeavors, he enjoyed the love and
  support of his wife, the former Dana Bloxom, whom he married in
  1995, and their union was enriched by the addition of a son,
  Cameron; and
         WHEREAS, Dedicated to his family, faith, and hometown, Matt
  Waller made a meaningful difference in the lives of his fellow
  citizens, and memories of many happy times spent in his company
  remain to comfort his loved ones; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
  Legislature pay tribute to the life of Charles Matthew Waller and
  extend deepest sympathy to the members of his family: to his wife,
  Dana Waller; to his son, Cameron Waller; to his parents, Charles and
  Violet Waller; to his sister, Shelly Beam, and her husband, Brent;
  to his parents-in-law, Mike and Debbie Bloxom; to his
  sister-in-law, Keely Ramsey, and her husband, Hollis; to his
  grandmother-in-law, Joyce Bloxom; to his nephews, Greg and Kiefer
  Waller, Brittan and Conner Beam, and Cody and Caleb Ramsey; to his
  niece, Mikayla Ramsey; and to his other relatives and many friends;
  and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Matt
  Waller.
