R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Family and friends will long cherish their memories |
|
of James Henry Carroll, who passed away on December 1, 2011, at the |
|
age of 73; and |
|
WHEREAS, Jimmy Carroll was born on August 21, 1938, in |
|
Dilley; he was the quarterback for the 1955 Dilley High School |
|
championship football team, and he later earned an athletic |
|
scholarship to Baylor University; and |
|
WHEREAS, After college, Mr. Carroll returned to Dilley and |
|
married his high school sweetheart, Peggy Mannen; the couple shared |
|
many happy years together before her passing, and, over the course |
|
of their marriage, their family grew to include two sons, Lee and |
|
Lane, as well as six grandchildren; and |
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Carroll was employed by McDonough Brothers and |
|
the Longhorn Cement Company for 17 years; he went on to serve as |
|
senior vice president of sales and marketing for the Alamo Cement |
|
Company in San Antonio for two decades; Mr. Carroll was also an avid |
|
outdoorsman; and |
|
WHEREAS, Jimmy Carroll lived a caring and purposeful life, |
|
and he will forever be remembered with deep affection by all who |
|
held him close to their hearts; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas |
|
Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of James Henry Carroll |
|
and extend sincere sympathy to the members of his family: to his |
|
sons, Lee Carroll and his wife, Ruth, and Lane Carroll and his wife, |
|
Traci; to his siblings, Mary Hunter, Bob Carroll, and Bill Carroll; |
|
to his six grandchildren, Wade, Chelsea, Gregory, Hannah, Addison, |
|
and Laney; and to his other relatives and friends; and, be it |
|
further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of |
|
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of James Henry |
|
Carroll. |
