H.R. No. 1036

R E S O L U T I O N

WHEREAS, Marielo Arazoza Morales of Coronado High School in El Paso was named the Region 19 Principal of the Year for 2011-2012 by the Texas Association of Secondary School Principals; and

WHEREAS, TASSP annually recognizes secondary school administrators throughout Texas who have demonstrated exceptional performance and leadership; and

WHEREAS, Ms. Morales has led with distinction since taking the helm at Coronado High; under her direction, the school has offered NASA Space Camp scholarships to children of active and veteran military members, and many Coronado students have been recognized for their outstanding academic, athletic, and musical performances in University Interscholastic League competitions; in addition, she oversees the district's only international baccalaureate magnet program; and

WHEREAS, The commitment to excellence that Marielo Morales has brought to her efforts at Coronado High School has inspired faculty, staff, and students alike, and through her achievements, she is helping many young Texans to acquire the skills they will need to build fulfilling and productive lives; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas Legislature hereby congratulate Marielo Arazoza Morales on her selection as the 2011-2012 Region 19 Principal of the Year by the Texas Association of Secondary School Principals and extend to her sincere best wishes for continued success with her important work; and, be it further

RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Ms. Morales as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
