R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Students and teachers in the Harlandale Independent |
|
|
School District in San Antonio have greatly benefited from the |
|
|
efforts of David Sosa, a dedicated champion of education in the |
|
|
local area; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Sosa's interest in ensuring the quality of the |
|
|
community's schools stemmed from his own experiences in raising his |
|
|
four children; he distinguished himself during his 12-year tenure |
|
|
on the Harlandale ISD board of trustees, which included service as |
|
|
president and vice president; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, This resourceful public official worked hard to find |
|
|
efficient solutions for a range of educational challenges, and he |
|
|
was an influential advocate for creating an advanced curriculum and |
|
|
developing new ways to recognize the accomplishments of district |
|
|
staff; his outstanding achievements were honored with his induction |
|
|
into the Harlandale ISD Hall of Fame; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, A former member of the United States Air Force, |
|
|
Mr. Sosa served with the 433rd Military Airlift Wing, and he |
|
|
retired with 33 years of distinguished service; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, David Sosa is a notable advocate for the mission of |
|
|
providing Harlandale ISD students with a strong foundation for |
|
|
success, and he has earned the lasting respect and appreciation of |
|
|
his fellow citizens; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby honor David Sosa for his contributions to the |
|
|
Harlandale Independent School District and extend to him sincere |
|
|
best wishes for the future; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Mr. Sosa as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
|
House of Representatives. |
