R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, The 94th birthday of an esteemed Texan is indeed
  cause for celebration, and Reba Roe of Emory marked that special
  milestone on February 18, 2013; and
         WHEREAS, One of nine children, Mrs. Roe grew up on a farm,
  picking cotton and collecting wood with her family; she moved to
  Oklahoma, where she was married and raised her daughter, and
  returned to the Lone Star State following her husband's death; she
  worked as a seamstress for some time, saving until she was able to
  buy cows and land and to build a home, where she continues to live
  today; and
         WHEREAS, Mrs. Roe is well known for her impressive quilting
  abilities; over the years, she has sewn more than 1,000 quilts,
  making some for her grandchildren and selling many others across
  the country from California to Louisiana; she also enjoys gardening
  and baking; and
         WHEREAS, Reba Roe may reflect with great satisfaction on a
  lifetime of achievement, and it is a pleasure to join her friends
  and loved ones in reminding her of the high regard in which she is
  held by all who are privileged to know her; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate Reba Roe on her 94th birthday and
  extend to her sincere best wishes for continued happiness and good
  fortune; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Mrs. Roe as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
