R E S O L U T I O N

|
WHEREAS, Frederich Reinhardt Schauer IV of Beeville |
|
|
auctioned his prize steer for a record $230,000 during the Junior |
|
|
Sale of Champions at the Fort Worth Stock Show, the highest price |
|
|
paid for a steer in the event's 116-year history; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, "Cuatro" Schauer raised Spider Monkey, a |
|
|
1,328-pound European Cross steer, for a year prior to the show on |
|
|
his family's ranch in Beeville; he has been showing steers and other |
|
|
animals in competition for more than nine years, and his previous |
|
|
wins include Grand Champion Youth Market Goat at the State Fair of |
|
|
Texas in 2011, Grand Champion Junior Market Steer at Rodeo Austin in |
|
|
2011, and Grand Champion Lamb at the 2009 State Fair of Texas; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, A graduate of A. C. Jones High School in Beeville, |
|
|
Mr. Schauer is using the funds he earned from his sale to pay for |
|
|
his education at Texas A&M University, where he is studying animal |
|
|
science; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, This outstanding young Texan has distinguished |
|
|
himself through his commitment to excellence and perseverance in |
|
|
the pursuit of his goals, and he may reflect with pride on a job well |
|
|
done; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Frederich Reinhardt Schauer IV on |
|
|
his success at the Fort Worth Stock Show and extend to him sincere |
|
|
best wishes for the future; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Mr. Schauer as an expression of high regard by the |
|
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
