H.R. No. 1099
 
 
 
R E S O L U T I O N
 
         WHEREAS, A century of joyful memories and meaningful
  accomplishments is truly reason to celebrate, and Andrew Womack of
  Blanchard is marking that special milestone on April 13, 2013, when
  he turns 100 years old; and
         WHEREAS, "Buddy" Womack was born in Fostoria on April 13,
  1913, to Henry Womack and Mary Johnson; he lost his father when he
  was two, and he and his mother subsequently moved to Point Blank,
  where he attended school when he wasn't working in the fields;
  Mr. Womack began courting his future wife, Minnie Lee, on walks
  home from church, and at the age of 19 he asked for her hand in
  marriage; the two were wed on March 23, 1934, and they have since
  shared nearly eight decades together; with the passing years, their
  family has grown to include 6 children, 20 grandchildren, 44
  great-grandchildren, and 16 great-great-grandchildren; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Womack worked as a sharecropper until he
  acquired his own tract of land and saved enough to purchase a
  tractor; he went on to sell goods from his farm and tend property
  for landowners near Lake Livingston; although he retired in 1985,
  he could still be seen riding his tractor at the age of 95; and
         WHEREAS, Over the course of the past century, Buddy Womack
  has brought happiness into the lives of all those fortunate enough
  to share in his love and friendship, and it is a pleasure to join in
  honoring him for 100 years of life well lived; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate Andrew Womack on the joyous
  occasion of his 100th birthday and extend to him sincere best wishes
  for continued happiness; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Mr. Womack as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
