R E S O L U T I O N

|
|
WHEREAS, Milton Cowart of Lumberton was named Mr. East Texas |
|
|
by the Tyler County Dogwood Festival, and he is being honored on |
|
|
April 6, 2013, during the Dogwood Pageant; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The Mr. East Texas award is given annually to the |
|
|
person whose leadership and community spirit best serves the growth |
|
|
and progress of East Texas; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Born in Beaumont, "Mic" Cowart graduated from |
|
|
Lumberton High School, where he played football; he subsequently |
|
|
went to work at the Beaumont Line Department for Gulf State |
|
|
Utilities; he attended college at night and went on to earn an |
|
|
associate's degree in electrical technology and a bachelor's degree |
|
|
in industrial engineering technology from Lamar University; today, |
|
|
he is the energy customer service manager for Hardin and Tyler |
|
|
Counties, and he dedicates his time to a number of local |
|
|
organizations; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Texans benefit each day from the contributions of |
|
|
those civic leaders who improve the quality of life in their |
|
|
communities, and Mic Cowart is indeed deserving of commendation for |
|
|
his work in behalf of his fellow residents; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Milton Cowart on being named Mr. |
|
|
East Texas for 2013 by the Tyler County Dogwood Festival and extend |
|
|
to him sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Mr. Cowart as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
|
House of Representatives. |
