H.R. No. 1131
 
 
 
R E S O L U T I O N
 
         WHEREAS, Milton Cowart of Lumberton was named Mr. East Texas
  by the Tyler County Dogwood Festival, and he is being honored on
  April 6, 2013, during the Dogwood Pageant; and
         WHEREAS, The Mr. East Texas award is given annually to the
  person whose leadership and community spirit best serves the growth
  and progress of East Texas; and
         WHEREAS, Born in Beaumont, "Mic" Cowart graduated from
  Lumberton High School, where he played football; he subsequently
  went to work at the Beaumont Line Department for Gulf State
  Utilities; he attended college at night and went on to earn an
  associate's degree in electrical technology and a bachelor's degree
  in industrial engineering technology from Lamar University; today,
  he is the energy customer service manager for Hardin and Tyler
  Counties, and he dedicates his time to a number of local
  organizations; and
         WHEREAS, Texans benefit each day from the contributions of
  those civic leaders who improve the quality of life in their
  communities, and Mic Cowart is indeed deserving of commendation for
  his work in behalf of his fellow residents; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate Milton Cowart on being named Mr.
  East Texas for 2013 by the Tyler County Dogwood Festival and extend
  to him sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Mr. Cowart as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
