R E S O L U T I O N
 
         WHEREAS, Residents of Texas House District 95 are gathering
  on March 26, 2013, at the seat of Texas government to witness
  firsthand the workings of the state legislature and to celebrate
  together the place they call home; and
         WHEREAS, House District 95 includes a significant portion of
  Fort Worth, as well as the communities of Forest Hill, Everman, and
  Edgecliff Village; situated within the district are a number of
  special attractions that highlight the history of the area; and
         WHEREAS, The Camp Worth Memorial plaque in front of the
  Criminal Courts building in downtown Fort Worth commemorates the
  founding of Camp Worth on the site in 1849, while the Chisholm Trail
  Mural a few blocks away in Sundance Square evokes the city's leading
  part in the great cattle drives of the 1860s and 1870s; also in
  Sundance Square is the Sid Richardson Museum, featuring works by
  Frederic Remington, Charles M. Russell, and other artists from the
  collection of the legendary oilman and philanthropist Sid
  Richardson; and
         WHEREAS, The Fort Worth Central Library was funded by Andrew
  Carnegie and opened in 1901, serving for many years as an art
  gallery, museum, theater, and cultural center; the Al Hayne
  Memorial and Park pays tribute to the heroism of a British civil
  engineer who died while saving lives during a fire in 1890; Fort
  Worth's history as a center for aviation is noted with the Aviation
  Wall of Honor, which lists the names of pilots, astronauts,
  governors, and presidents; and
         WHEREAS, Heritage Park along the Trinity River offers scenic
  views of the city, while the Fort Worth Water Gardens, which opened
  in 1974, have been called an architectural and engineering marvel;
  the JFK Tribute exhibit recalls the visit of President John
  F. Kennedy to the city and honors his continuing legacy; and
         WHEREAS, District 95 is also home to the Stop Six
  Neighborhood, which encompasses several subdivisions that were
  developed in the early 20th century and that stood near the sixth
  stop on the old interurban rail line between Fort Worth and Dallas;
  the section of the neighborhood south of Ramey Street was
  designated as a historic district by the Fort Worth City Council in
  2007; and
         WHEREAS, Steeped in Texas heritage, House District 95 offers
  visitors and residents alike unique opportunities to discover more
  about the culture and history of the Lone Star State, even as a trip
  to the Capitol provides visitors with a personal connection to
  their state government in action; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
  Legislature hereby recognize March 26, 2013, as House District 95
  Day at the State Capitol and welcome all those from the area who are
  in the chamber on this day.
