R E S O L U T I O N
 
         WHEREAS, Members of the Texas Computer Education Association
  are gathering in Austin on April 4, 2013, to celebrate the first
  Educational Technology Day at the State Capitol; and
         WHEREAS, Founded in 1980, TCEA promotes the use of technology
  in teaching and education; the largest state nonprofit organization
  of its kind, the association has more than 15,000 members; and
         WHEREAS, TCEA encourages an active interest in technology
  among elementary and secondary school students as well as at the
  higher education level; to achieve its goal, the group provides
  preservice and in-service training for educators, offers
  professional development opportunities, and sponsors an annual
  convention and exposition; and
         WHEREAS, The innovative incorporation of technology in the
  classroom will provide generations of young Texans with the skills
  they need to be productive citizens in the 21st century and will
  contribute immeasurably to the continued prosperity of the Lone
  Star State; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
  Legislature hereby recognize April 4, 2013, as Educational
  Technology Day at the State Capitol and extend to the delegation
  from the Texas Computer Education Association sincere best wishes
  for a meaningful and informative visit; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for TCEA as an expression of high regard by the Texas House
  of Representatives.
