H.R. No. 1147

R E S O L U T I O N

WHEREAS, Family and friends will long cherish their memories of Raymond Rodriguez Garcia, Jr., of San Antonio who passed away on March 3, 2013, at the age of 73; and

WHEREAS, The son of Ramon and Virginia Garcia, Raymond Garcia was born on October 18, 1939; a star football player, he graduated from Tech High School in 1959; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Garcia was active in his community and served on the Class of '59 Reunion Committee; he was also involved in various social clubs, and he was a fourth degree member of the Knights of Columbus; and

WHEREAS, In all his endeavors, Mr. Garcia enjoyed the love and support of his wife, Alice, with whom he shared 46 years, and he took great pride in their two daughters, Yvette and Jessica; and

WHEREAS, Those fortunate enough to have known Raymond Garcia will remember the way he touched their lives with his warmth and generosity, and he will forever hold a treasured place in their hearts; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Raymond Rodriguez Garcia, Jr., and extend deepest sympathy to the members of his family: to his wife, Alice Garcia; to his daughters, Yvette Garcia and Jessica Anna Garcia; to his grandchildren, Judionn Garcia and Hector Soto IV; to his sister, Carmen Perez; and to his other relatives and friends; and, be it further

RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Raymond Garcia.
