R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, A 50th wedding anniversary marks a lifetime of |
|
|
mutual devotion and shared experiences, and Robert and Jennie Lopez |
|
|
celebrated this joyous milestone in their marriage on February 2, |
|
|
2013; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Lopez, born in his parents' home on Easy Street |
|
|
in Houston, and Mrs. Lopez, who has roots in Cameron, met each other |
|
|
in a cotton field; they were joined in matrimony in 1963, and |
|
|
through the years, they have been blessed with a treasured family |
|
|
that includes 4 daughters, Vera, Jenny, Mary, and Roberta, as well |
|
|
as 12 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Respected members of their community, Mr. Lopez is |
|
|
retired from his work in the agriculture business and Mrs. Lopez is |
|
|
a homemaker; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Lopez have enjoyed half a century of |
|
|
abiding love and affection for each other, and they are among an |
|
|
exceptional group of men and women who can claim such a lasting |
|
|
commitment; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Robert and Jennie Lopez on their |
|
|
golden wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes |
|
|
for continued happiness; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Lopez as an expression of high regard by |
|
|
the Texas House of Representatives. |
