R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Garland residents Salvador Salinas and Brenda
  Wooldridge were sworn in as Dallas CASA volunteers on February 22,
  2013; and
         WHEREAS, A nonprofit organization, Court Appointed Special
  Advocates allows ordinary citizens to become voices for children in
  the court and protective services systems; volunteers are trained
  to gather information and make recommendations that assist judges
  in arriving at decisions concerning a child's well-being; CASA
  volunteers also serve as a constant in the life of a child who may be
  experiencing the frightening uncertainty of a strange environment,
  a difficult past, and an ambiguous future; and
         WHEREAS, Dallas CASA was established in 1980, and in 2012,
  more than 600 volunteers served with the organization, helping more
  than 1,750 abused and neglected children; and
         WHEREAS, Those Texans who give generously of their time and
  talents to benefit the larger community make the world a better
  place through their actions and their example, and Salvador Salinas
  and Brenda Wooldridge are indeed two such individuals; now,
  therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate Salvador Salinas and Brenda
  Wooldridge of Garland on their swearing in as CASA volunteers and
  extend to them sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it
  further
         RESOLVED, That official copies of this resolution be prepared
  for Mr. Salinas and Ms. Wooldridge as an expression of high regard
  by the Texas House of Representatives.
