R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, The city of Rowlett has greatly benefited from the |
|
|
dedicated leadership of council member Donna Davis; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, A native Texan, Ms. Davis was elected to her current |
|
|
post in June 2010 and has served with distinction; during her |
|
|
tenure, she has worked diligently to encourage citizen engagement, |
|
|
stimulate sustainable development in the area, and promote |
|
|
conservative fiscal management; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Councilwoman Davis retired from Texas Instruments |
|
|
after a 34-year career in human resources and supervision; she now |
|
|
tutors individuals preparing for the GED and teaches senior |
|
|
citizens basic computer classes through a program sponsored by the |
|
|
Senior Advisory Board and the Rowlett Public Library; moreover, she |
|
|
is a member of the Rowlett Women's Club, and she has previously |
|
|
served on the Library Advisory Board, the 2008 Charter Review |
|
|
Commission, the ad hoc Bond Committee, and the Dallas Area Rapid |
|
|
Transit Arts and Design Committee; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Each day, public servants improve the quality of |
|
|
life for their fellow citizens in innumerable ways, and Donna Davis |
|
|
is helping to make Rowlett an even better place in which to live and |
|
|
work; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby honor Donna Davis for her outstanding service on |
|
|
the Rowlett City Council and extend to her sincere best wishes for |
|
|
continued success; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Ms. Davis as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
|
House of Representatives. |
