R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Angel Roldan of Garland has won the third annual |
|
|
CiCi's Pizza Throwdown competition, which was held in Murphy on |
|
|
February 19, 2013; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, More than 200 pizza artisans from across the country |
|
|
train all year to vie for this national title; after competing in |
|
|
local and regional events, the original field is whittled down to |
|
|
just four contestants for the final round of the challenge, in which |
|
|
they are tasked with stretching, saucing, and baking a full buffet |
|
|
of pizzas, desserts, and garlic parmesan knots as quickly and |
|
|
skillfully as possible; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Roldan's first-place time of just 24 minutes and |
|
|
9 seconds earned him the national title, along with a number of |
|
|
awards; in addition, Mr. Roldan's name will be featured prominently |
|
|
on a CiCi's distribution truck that will be used to deliver supplies |
|
|
to restaurants all across the nation; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, An employee at the CiCi's locations in Garland and |
|
|
Pleasant Grove, Mr. Roldan has worked for the company for 12 years, |
|
|
and he has participated in training videos that demonstrate pizza |
|
|
making; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Angel Roldan has shown exemplary dedication to his |
|
|
culinary craft, and he is indeed deserving of recognition for his |
|
|
impressive achievements; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Angel Roldan on winning the third |
|
|
annual CiCi's Pizza Throwdown and extend to him sincere best wishes |
|
|
for continued success. |
