R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Erlinda Villasana Reyes of Dallas passed away on
  February 13, 2013, leaving her circle of family and friends to
  cherish their many happy memories of time spent in her company; and
         WHEREAS, The former Erlinda Villasana was born on November 8,
  1921, in Mart; the daughter of sharecroppers, she spent her early
  years on a farm before the family relocated to Dallas, where she
  attended Cumberland Elementary School; when her mother died, she
  took on the role of caretaker for her father and her younger
  siblings, and she worked at the Cumberland cafeteria as well as at
  several canneries in the area; she later found employment as an
  elevator operator at the Adolphus and Baker Hotels in downtown
  Dallas; and
         WHEREAS, While skating at a local ice rink, she met her future
  husband, Catarino Reyes; the couple married on July 21, 1945, and
  enjoyed more than three decades together; they were blessed with
  twins, Catarino and Nell, and Mrs. Reyes subsequently dedicated
  herself full-time to her home and her loved ones; with the passing
  years, she took great joy in welcoming into her family four
  grandchildren and three great-granddaughters; and
         WHEREAS, Erlinda Reyes lived a caring and purposeful life,
  and she will forever be remembered with deep affection by all who
  held her close to their hearts; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
  Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Erlinda Villasana
  Reyes and extend sincere sympathy to the members of her family: to
  her children, Nell Lazcano and her husband, Juan Manuel, and
  Catarino Reyes and his wife, Rosie; to her grandchildren, John,
  Christopher, Daniel, and Amanda Reyes; to her
  great-granddaughters, Chloe, Alyssa, and Raven Reyes; to her
  sister, Dora Jimenez; to her sister-in-law, Francis Reyes; and to
  her many other relatives and friends; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Erlinda
  Villasana Reyes.
