R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Jennifer Harpham of Lake Jackson has received a 2012
  Cradle of Texas District Award of Merit from the Bay Area Council of
  the Boy Scouts of America; and
         WHEREAS, This distinguished service commendation is the
  highest honor a volunteer can receive at the district level of Boy
  Scouts and pays tribute to individuals who have made a positive
  difference in the lives of Texas youth through their dedicated work
  in behalf of the organization; the Cradle of Texas District
  includes the entire Brazosport area, including Surfside and
  Quintana, as well as the West of Brazos cities from Churchill to
  Damon; and
         WHEREAS, A truly deserving recipient, Mrs. Harpham has
  shared her time and talents with Cub Scout Pack 324, sponsored by
  St. Michael's Catholic Church in Lake Jackson, for more than 10
  years; currently guiding her fifth son through the scouting
  program, she has served in every den leader position from Tiger Cubs
  to Webelos II and has acted as the religious emblems coordinator for
  the Light of Christ and the Parvuli Dei programs; on the district
  level, she has served as chair of the past three District Day Camps
  and is planning the coming event this June; and
         WHEREAS, Mrs. Harpham has also earned district recognition
  with the Distinguished Scouter Award in 2009 and the Lone Star
  Scouter Award in 2010; in addition to her work with the Boy Scouts
  organization, she is an auxiliary manager for the Lake Jackson
  Little League, a member of the board of the Faith in Action Ministry
  Group, vice president of the Brazoswood Quarterback Club, and an
  instructor for the eighth grade youth group at St. Michael's;
  Mrs. Harpham is employed as a prekindergarten teacher at the School
  for Little People; and
         WHEREAS, Many young Texans have benefited from the
  leadership, commitment, and enthusiasm of Jenny Harpham, and it is
  a pleasure to join in acknowledging her exceptional contributions
  to the Boy Scouts of America; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate Jennifer Harpham on receiving a
  Cradle of Texas District Award of Merit from the Bay Area Council of
  the Boy Scouts of America and extend to her sincere best wishes for
  the future; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Mrs. Harpham as an expression of high regard by the
  Texas House of Representatives.
