R E S O L U T I O N

|
WHEREAS, Beckie Irvin of Hico won first place in the AGvocacy |
|
|
Video Contest at the 2013 Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Open to Texas 4-H and FFA participants, the AGvocacy |
|
|
Video Contest allows students to create and produce their own video |
|
|
projects dealing with agricultural topics such as agriculture |
|
|
policy and biogenetics; Ms. Irvin's winning submission focused on |
|
|
how agriculture benefits Americans in their daily lives, supplying |
|
|
food as well as fiber for clothing and ingredients for countless |
|
|
household products; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Ms. Irvin is a senior at Hico High School and is |
|
|
currently the president of her school's FFA program; she served as |
|
|
vice president of the organization during the previous academic |
|
|
year; thanks to her outstanding work, her school will receive a $700 |
|
|
cash award from the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Beckie Irvin has demonstrated exceptional |
|
|
creativity and dedication, and she may indeed reflect with pride on |
|
|
earning this prestigious honor; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Beckie Irvin on winning first place |
|
|
at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo for her video project and |
|
|
extend to her sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it |
|
|
further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Ms. Irvin as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
|
House of Representatives. |
