R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, The Town of Addison is helping to benefit Baylor |
|
|
University students and the local economy through its support of |
|
|
the Accelerated Ventures business incubation program; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Designed to bring new industry and jobs to the |
|
|
Addison area, the initiative offers valuable services to graduates |
|
|
of Baylor's Hankamer School of Business Accelerated Ventures |
|
|
course; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The city is providing free office space for a year, |
|
|
as well as mentorship and other resources, to participants who, |
|
|
through their studies, have learned important strategies to develop |
|
|
market plans, create startup companies, and generate revenue; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Locally owned and operated businesses play a vital |
|
|
role in the prosperity of the Lone Star State, and by helping to |
|
|
encourage their development, the Town of Addison is ensuring that |
|
|
this North Texas community will continue to thrive; now, therefore, |
|
|
be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby honor the new business incubation partnership |
|
|
between the Town of Addison and Baylor University and extend to all |
|
|
those associated with the program sincere best wishes for the |
|
|
future. |
