R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, The City of Garland has earned the LIVE UNITED Award |
|
|
for Public Services from the United Way of Metropolitan Dallas; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The LIVE UNITED Award honors organizations that have |
|
|
helped to advance the United Way's vision of a world where all |
|
|
individuals and families achieve their human potential through |
|
|
education, income stability, and healthy lives; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, During the past year, Garland municipal employees |
|
|
have raised more than $68,000 for the United Way of Metropolitan |
|
|
Dallas, and this contribution will provide valuable support to the |
|
|
organization's many worthwhile programs; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The City of Garland has demonstrated an ongoing |
|
|
commitment to the United Way, and in so doing, it is improving the |
|
|
quality of life in the area and setting a commendable example for |
|
|
other communities across the state; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate the City of Garland on earning the |
|
|
LIVE UNITED Award for Public Services from the United Way of |
|
|
Metropolitan Dallas and commend its employees for their efforts to |
|
|
further a vital cause; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for the city as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
|
House of Representatives. |
