R E S O L U T I O N
 
         WHEREAS, The National Christian Forensics and Communications
  Association gives homeschooled high school students an opportunity
  to participate in speech and debate competitions while learning to
  communicate more effectively; and
         WHEREAS, Founded in 2001, the NCFCA is the oldest and most
  established homeschool forensics league in the country; the
  organization is dedicated to the belief that formal speech and
  debate can provide a means for students to exercise analytical and
  oratorical skills, which will serve them well in addressing life
  issues from a biblical worldview; and
         WHEREAS, The NCFCA organizes qualifying tournaments
  throughout the United States, culminating in an annual national
  championship; the Region IV Speech and Debate tournament took place
  in Texas House of Representatives District 102 from February 28
  through March 2, 2013; and
         WHEREAS, By encouraging young people to develop their powers
  of persuasion and deepen their appreciation for logic and rhetoric,
  the National Christian Forensics and Communications Association is
  helping to bring about a brighter future for many young Texans; now,
  therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
  Legislature hereby honor the National Christian Forensics and
  Communications Association for working to promote academic
  excellence and extend to all those involved with NCFCA sincere best
  wishes for continued success; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for the association as an expression of high regard by the
  Texas House of Representatives.
