R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, The rank of Eagle Scout is an achievement shared by |
|
many of this nation's leaders, and the attainment of this |
|
significant honor by Houston Robert Garrett of Lubbock also heralds |
|
a future bright with opportunity and promise; and |
|
WHEREAS, The son of Greg and Nancy Garrett and a junior at |
|
Trinity Christian School, this fine young Texan has mastered a |
|
number of important skills in his quest to become an Eagle Scout; he |
|
has earned merit badges requiring expertise in such diverse areas |
|
as first aid, personal fitness, and environmental science, and he |
|
has gained experience in leadership and teamwork while undertaking |
|
his Eagle Scout project, which involved manufacturing and placing |
|
more than 200 address signs on the back fences of homes throughout |
|
Lubbock, enabling first responders to better identify the locations |
|
from the alley; and |
|
WHEREAS, A valued member of Boy Scout Troop No. 567, |
|
Mr. Garrett has served his peers as a leader, and in so doing, he |
|
has exemplified the many positive traits for which Boy Scouts are |
|
renowned; and |
|
WHEREAS, In fulfilling the rigorous requirements for |
|
attaining the Eagle Scout insignia, Houston Garrett has |
|
demonstrated an unwavering commitment to the organization and its |
|
ideals, and the knowledge and confidence he has acquired along the |
|
way will indeed serve him well in the years to come; now, therefore, |
|
be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas |
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Houston Robert Garrett on |
|
attaining the rank of Eagle Scout and extend to him sincere best |
|
wishes for continued success; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Mr. Garrett as an expression of high regard by the |
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
