R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Demonstrating exceptional dedication and teamwork,
  the Plainview Christian Academy boys' basketball team captured the
  Texas Association of Private and Parochial Schools 1A state
  championship on March 2, 2013, in Mansfield; and
         WHEREAS, Facing Community Christian School of Orange in the
  title game, the Eagles excelled with their disciplined brand of
  basketball; they opened up a 10-point lead in the first half and
  went on to claim a decisive 65-44 win and the first state crown in
  school history; in recognition of their fine play, Kenneth
  Landtroop, Braden Landtroop, and Arjay Castro were named to the
  All-Tournament Team, and the squad also benefited from the vital
  contributions of the other members of the roster throughout the
  year; and
         WHEREAS, The championship victory capped off a season-ending
  15-game winning streak for the PCA team that also included a
  dominating 75-44 triumph over previously top-ranked Lifestyle
  Christian School of Conroe in the semifinals; and
         WHEREAS, The Eagles were guided by Andrew Morales, who took
  his players to the top in his inaugural season as PCA head coach;
  the team finished with an overall record of 24 wins and just 7
  losses and recorded a perfect 10-0 mark in district play; and
         WHEREAS, Winning a state championship is the culmination of
  countless hours of hard work and an unwavering commitment to
  excellence, and these talented student-athletes may take
  justifiable pride in their outstanding accomplishment; now,
  therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate the Plainview Christian Academy
  boys' basketball team on winning the TAPPS 1A state championship
  and extend to the team's players, coaches, and staff sincere best
  wishes for continued success; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for the team as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
