R E S O L U T I O N

|
|
WHEREAS, A 50th wedding anniversary marks a lifetime of |
|
|
mutual devotion and shared experiences, and Oel and Catherine |
|
|
Castner of Spring are celebrating this joyous milestone in their |
|
|
marriage on July 5, 2013; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Castner were joined in matrimony in |
|
|
1963 at a ceremony held at First Methodist Church in Corpus Christi, |
|
|
and over the course of their marriage, they have found in each other |
|
|
a loving life partner; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The couple built boys ranches and children's homes |
|
|
until they moved to Montgomery County in 1981; Mrs. Castner spent |
|
|
20 years as an educator at Knox and York Junior High Schools, and |
|
|
she now works with the Montgomery County Food Bank BackPack for Kids |
|
|
Program; Mr. Castner is a professional storyteller, humorist, and |
|
|
folklorist, and he relates Texan tales to more than 10,000 |
|
|
schoolchildren per year; he also counsels young adults on applying |
|
|
to and paying for college; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Castner have enjoyed a half-century of |
|
|
abiding love and affection for each other, and they are among an |
|
|
exceptional group of men and women who can claim such a lasting |
|
|
commitment; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Oel and Catherine Castner on their |
|
|
golden wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes |
|
|
for continued happiness; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Castner as an expression of high regard |
|
|
by the Texas House of Representatives. |
