R E S O L U T I O N
|

|
|
WHEREAS, Curtis Ray Steger II of Georgetown has attained the |
|
|
rank of Eagle Scout, and this accomplishment truly merits special |
|
|
recognition; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Receiving the Eagle Scout badge is a significant |
|
|
honor, bestowed on only a small fraction of those who enter the |
|
|
scouting movement; in the course of meeting the rank's demanding |
|
|
criteria, "Cray" Steger earned 31 merit badges, and for his Eagle |
|
|
Scout project, he constructed a storage shed for the Humane Society |
|
|
of Williamson County; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, This fine young Texan has demonstrated outstanding |
|
|
leadership ability throughout his scouting career, winning the |
|
|
respect and admiration of his fellow scouts as he worked toward the |
|
|
highest rank that scouting offers; his numerous camping excursions |
|
|
include Camp Pirtle, Camp Sol Mayer, and Lost Pines Boy Scout Camp, |
|
|
as well as a high adventure backpacking expedition at Philmont |
|
|
Scout Ranch, during which his crew hiked 70 miles; moreover, he |
|
|
completed the Capitol Area Council's National Youth Leadership |
|
|
Training at Camp Green Dickson and has participated in 35 service |
|
|
projects; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, In addition to his scouting activities, Mr. Steger |
|
|
is a freshman at East View High School and attends Palm Valley |
|
|
Lutheran Church; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Eagle Scout Steger's dedication to excellence and |
|
|
his perseverance in the pursuit of his goals have proven him worthy |
|
|
to stand among scouting's elite, and he may indeed reflect with |
|
|
pride on a job well done; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Curtis Ray Steger II on achieving |
|
|
the rank of Eagle Scout and extend to him sincere best wishes for |
|
|
continued success and happiness; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Eagle Scout Steger as an expression of high regard by |
|
|
the Texas House of Representatives. |
