R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, In recognition of his exemplary service, Pilot Point |
|
|
police officer Robert Powell received a 2013 Hometown Hero Award |
|
|
from the Lake Ray Roberts Rotary Club; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Sergeant Powell served this nation as a member of |
|
|
the U.S. Army for 11 years before beginning his career in law |
|
|
enforcement; he has worked for the Pilot Point Police Department |
|
|
since 2005 in such positions as patrol and field training officer, |
|
|
manager of the property room, and detective with the criminal |
|
|
investigations division; he previously gained experience with the |
|
|
Aubrey and Marshall Creek police forces; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The recipient of an advanced peace officer's |
|
|
certification, Sergeant Powell has also earned certification as a |
|
|
special investigator through the Texas Commission on Law |
|
|
Enforcement Officer Standards and Education; in 2011, he was |
|
|
promoted to sergeant, and soon after he was chosen to serve as |
|
|
interim chief of police; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Robert Powell has distinguished himself with his |
|
|
dedication, professionalism, and commitment to public safety, |
|
|
earning the respect and admiration of his peers and fellow citizens |
|
|
alike, and he may indeed take pride in his outstanding |
|
|
contributions to his community; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Robert Powell on his receipt of a |
|
|
2013 Hometown Hero Award from the Lake Ray Roberts Rotary Club and |
|
|
extend to him sincere best wishes for continued success and |
|
|
happiness; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Sergeant Powell as an expression of high regard by the |
|
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
