R E S O L U T I O N
|

|
|
WHEREAS, Lieutenant Colonel Robert West has been selected as |
|
|
the 2013 Teacher of the Year at Denton High School for his |
|
|
exceptional work with students on that campus; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Since joining the Denton High faculty in 2009 as |
|
|
leader of the school's Air Force Junior ROTC program, Colonel West |
|
|
has worked tirelessly to create a positive learning environment for |
|
|
his students, who have found in him a steadfast mentor and ally; his |
|
|
love for his work and dedication to his craft are readily apparent |
|
|
to all who know him; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Colonel West attended the University of Maine before |
|
|
joining the United States Air Force; he flew planes for 24 years, |
|
|
and during the course of his career he was charged with helping to |
|
|
protect the airspace over the White House in Washington, D.C.; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Robert West has inspired in his students a zeal for |
|
|
learning that will serve them well throughout their lives, and he |
|
|
can indeed take pride in the deep respect and appreciation that he |
|
|
has earned in his new vocation; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Lieutenant Colonel Robert West on |
|
|
his selection as the 2013 Denton High School Teacher of the Year and |
|
|
extend to him sincere best wishes for continued success with his |
|
|
important work; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Lieutenant Colonel West as an expression of high |
|
|
regard by the Texas House of Representatives. |
