R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Tradition Bank of Houston is celebrating the 50th
  anniversary of its founding on April 12, 2013; and
         WHEREAS, In 1963, local business leaders came together to
  establish a community bank, The First National Bank of Bellaire;
  over the years, several additional branches were added throughout
  Houston, and in 2003, they were merged under the common holding
  company, Tradition Bancshares, Inc., with the Bellaire branch
  serving as the operational center; and
         WHEREAS, Tradition Bank supports a variety of community
  organizations, including Bellaire and Alief schools, chamber of
  commerce groups, scholarship foundations, churches, parks and
  nature associations, the YMCA, and the Rotary Club; moreover, it
  fosters area development by financing projects that help businesses
  succeed; and
         WHEREAS, Locally owned and operated enterprises play a vital
  role in the prosperity of the Lone Star State, and this important
  milestone offers a fitting opportunity to recognize a venerable
  Houston bank; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
  Legislature hereby commemorate the 50th anniversary of Tradition
  Bank in Houston and extend to all those associated with the
  institution sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for the bank as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
