R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, The boys' basketball team of Triple A Academy in
  Dallas reached the pinnacle of success by capturing the University
  Interscholastic League 1A Division 1 state championship on March 9,
  2013; and
         WHEREAS, Finishing with a final record of 28 wins and just 5
  defeats, the Stallions made an impressive run through the playoffs,
  with an average margin of victory of more than 35 points per game;
  and
         WHEREAS, Matching up against Mumford High School with the
  championship on the line, the Stallions demonstrated their
  excellence and composure; the team fell behind in the first quarter
  but took control before halftime and claimed an 80-54 victory and
  the school's first state crown in boys' basketball; and
         WHEREAS, Junior guard Jeremiah Jefferson was named the
  championship game Most Valuable Player after scoring 29 points and
  hauling down 10 rebounds, while point guard Tyler Singleton added
  18 and joined Mr. Jefferson and Gary Breaux as All-Tournament
  honorees; excelling with a true team effort, the Stallions also
  received significant contributions throughout the season from the
  other members of the roster: Frank Hollis, Jamar Sandifer, Dalyn
  Mumphrey, Harrison Henderson, Shavarick James, Cameron Cooks, and
  King McClure; and
         WHEREAS, These dedicated student-athletes were ably guided
  by head coach Tim Singleton and assistant coaches Anthony Gilliam,
  Herman Hammon, and Trey Washington; additional support was provided
  by manager Freeman Nichols and videographer Brandon Redwine; and
         WHEREAS, Winning a state championship is the culmination of
  countless hours of hard work and an unwavering commitment to
  excellence, and the Triple A Academy players, their fellow
  classmates, and their many supporters in the community will
  treasure the memory of this outstanding accomplishment for many
  years to come; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate the Triple A Academy boys'
  basketball team on winning the UIL 1A Division 1 state championship
  and extend to the team's players, coaches, and staff sincere best
  wishes for continued success; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for the team as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
