R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, The Silverton Independent School District has been |
|
named a 2012 Texas Honors Circle District by the state |
|
comptroller's office; and |
|
WHEREAS, Each year, Financial Allocation Study for Texas |
|
(FAST) ratings are prepared to identify school districts and |
|
campuses that employ resource allocation practices that contribute |
|
to both high academic achievement and cost-effective operations; |
|
and |
|
WHEREAS, To be named to the Texas Honors Circle, districts |
|
must receive the highest possible FAST rating of five stars; those |
|
that achieve this impressive feat rank in the top 20 percent of the |
|
state in student academic growth while maintaining a low spending |
|
index; and |
|
WHEREAS, Receipt of this designation reflects most favorably |
|
on the fiscal management practices of Silverton ISD, and it is a |
|
notable tribute to the leadership of superintendent Bill Wood and |
|
to the skill and dedication demonstrated by the district's |
|
administration, faculty, and staff; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas |
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Silverton ISD on being named a 2012 |
|
Texas Honors Circle District and commend all those who have |
|
contributed to the district's success; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for SISD as an expression of high regard by the Texas House |
|
of Representatives. |
