R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Members of the Texas Catholic Conference are
  gathering in Austin on April 9, 2013, to celebrate Catholic Faith in
  Action Advocacy Day at the State Capitol; and
         WHEREAS, TCC works to encourage and foster cooperation and
  communication among the dioceses and the ministries of the Catholic
  Church of Texas; moreover, the organization serves as the public
  policy voice of the bishops of Texas; and
         WHEREAS, Visiting the State Capitol today is His Excellency,
  the Most Reverend Gustavo Garcia-Siller, archbishop of the
  Archdiocese of San Antonio, who will lead the opening prayer in the
  house chamber as the Pastor of the Day; and
         WHEREAS, He is accompanied by the Most Reverend Daniel
  Cardinal DiNardo, archbishop of the Archdiocese of
  Galveston-Houston, the Most Reverend Patrick J. Zurek, of the
  Diocese of Amarillo, the Most Reverend Joe S. Vasquez, of the
  Diocese of Austin, the Most Reverend Curtis John Guillory, of the
  Diocese of Beaumont, the Most Reverend Daniel E. Flores, of the
  Diocese of Brownsville, the Most Reverend William Michael Mulvey,
  of the Diocese of Corpus Christi, the Most Reverend Placido
  Rodriguez, of the Diocese of Lubbock, the Most Reverend James
  Tamayo, of the Diocese of Laredo, the Most Reverend Michael
  D. Pfeifer, of the Diocese of San Angelo, Auxiliary Bishop Mark
  Seitz, of the Diocese of Dallas, Auxiliary Bishop George A. Sheltz,
  of the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston, and Monsignor Steven Berg,
  of the Diocese of Fort Worth; and
         WHEREAS, Promoting the values of life, justice, charity, and
  religious freedom, the Catholic Faith in Action Advocacy Day
  encourages Catholics to help build a better world by becoming more
  informed and engaged citizens; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
  Legislature hereby recognize April 9, 2013, as Catholic Faith in
  Action Advocacy Day and extend to all participants sincere best
  wishes for a meaningful and memorable event; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for the Texas Catholic Conference as an expression of high
  regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
