R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Civic-minded students from across the Lone Star |
|
|
State are gathering in Austin on April 17, 2013, to celebrate High |
|
|
School Republicans of Texas Day at the State Capitol; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Founded in 2012, the High School Republicans of |
|
|
Texas is a new auxiliary group of the Republican Party of Texas and |
|
|
the official statewide Teen Age Republicans organization; with |
|
|
chapters in metropolitan areas across Texas, the group is working |
|
|
to identify and coordinate with existing high school Republican |
|
|
groups and to assist in the founding of new clubs; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Members of the HSRT gain a hands-on understanding of |
|
|
the political process by partnering with their local parties and |
|
|
volunteering for campaigns during the general election; moreover, |
|
|
the organization offers young conservative Texans a platform from |
|
|
which to voice their opinions, and it helps them develop and |
|
|
communicate their views and ideals to their peers and others; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Through efforts to provide its members direct |
|
|
experience with the political system, the High School Republicans |
|
|
of Texas has helped shape a more dynamic and engaged population of |
|
|
young Texans; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
|
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby recognize April 17, 2013, as High School |
|
|
Republicans of Texas Day at the State Capitol and extend a warm |
|
|
welcome to the members of the organization who are visiting on this |
|
|
day. |
