R E S O L U T I O N
|

|
|
WHEREAS, Residents of Plano have greatly benefited from the |
|
|
dedicated leadership of Lee Dunlap since his election to the city |
|
|
council; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Representing Place 8, Mr. Dunlap has ably guided the |
|
|
city with an eye to the future, and his expertise in a range of |
|
|
community issues has earned him widespread respect during his |
|
|
eight-year tenure in municipal government; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, In addition to serving as mayor pro tem, Mr. Dunlap |
|
|
has chaired the planning and zoning commission, the transportation |
|
|
advisory committee, the housing subcommittee Vision 2015, and |
|
|
Plano's Memorial Day ceremonies; he has also worked with the parks |
|
|
board, board of adjustments, heritage commission, library advisory |
|
|
board, and self sufficiency committee; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Dunlap has been a valued resident of Plano for |
|
|
17 years; he has further contributed to his community as a member of |
|
|
the Regional Transportation Council for the North Central Texas |
|
|
Council of Governments and through his leadership efforts with the |
|
|
local school district, the chamber of commerce, and the advisory |
|
|
committee of the Tri-City Retail Revitalization Task Force; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, A graduate of the University of Kansas and Texas A&M |
|
|
University, Mr. Dunlap is the owner of the architectural firm |
|
|
D. Lee Dunlap Associates; in all of his endeavors, he enjoys the |
|
|
love and support of his wife of 39 years, Pam; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Each day, public servants improve the quality of |
|
|
life for their fellow citizens in innumerable ways, and the efforts |
|
|
of Lee Dunlap have helped to make Plano an even better place in |
|
|
which to live and work; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby honor Lee Dunlap for his committed public |
|
|
service and extend to him sincere best wishes for the future; and, |
|
|
be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Mr. Dunlap as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
|
House of Representatives. |
