R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, The Jarrell Independent School District is
  celebrating the groundbreaking for its new middle school on April
  9, 2013; and
         WHEREAS, A rapidly growing district, Jarrell ISD operated a
  single campus for students in all grades until 2007, when it opened
  a separate high school; voters approved a $42 million bond issue the
  following year for an elementary school, a middle school, and
  further renovations; the elementary school was completed in 2010;
  and
         WHEREAS, The middle school will occupy the site of the
  original district campus, and a 1916 schoolhouse will be
  incorporated within a new courtyard; adding to the historic charm
  of the campus, the district is renovating a 1936 gymnasium, one of
  two gyms being remodeled; the high school and middle school will
  share outdoor athletic facilities; and
         WHEREAS, Under the leadership of superintendent William R.
  Chapman, Jarrell ISD has received Gold Performance
  Acknowledgements awards from the Texas Education Agency in social
  studies, writing, science, and reading; the district has also
  earned designation as "Superior" from the Financial Integrity
  Rating System of Texas, having achieved perfect scores in all 21
  financial standards for three consecutive years; and
         WHEREAS, The faculty, administration, and staff of Jarrell
  ISD have dedicated themselves to providing a high-quality education
  to young Texans, and the construction of the new middle school is a
  testament to the community's steadfast support for this vital
  enterprise; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate all those associated with the
  Jarrell Independent School District on the groundbreaking for the
  new middle school and extend to them sincere best wishes for
  continued success; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for the district as an expression of high regard by the
  Texas House of Representatives.
